Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Mobile Equipment Mechanic will perform his/her duties as a member of the Maintenance Department and collaborate with other departments of the division. The incumbent will perform the proper maintenance practices in terms of the preventive, corrective and modification maintenance in an open pit environment and ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting our client’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance in addition to minor and major mechanical repairs to all mobile mining equipment indoors as well as outdoors;
  • Evaluate work to be performed and apply correct procedure(s), rules and regulations, before executing tasks;
  • Complete and close the Work Orders;
  • Analyze the appropriate maintenance to apply according to the emergency;
  • Achieve key performance indicators;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Report all accidents to the Supervisor;
  • Perform any other duties required by the Supervisor.

  • College diploma in Mechanical Technology or Heavy Equipment Mechanic;
  • 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, combined with training experience;
Mining experience is an asset;
  • Underground certification or equivalent such as Mining Modules and Common Core is an asset for the position;
  • Experience and certification on Medium duty (Long-Haul trucks);
  • Understanding of A/C, hydraulic, and electrical system 12/24 volts troubleshooting;
  • Knowledge of diagnostic software tools preferred, preference given to those individuals possessing knowledge regarding the following equipment: Caterpillar, Sandvik, Mercedes motors;
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, positive attitude, with an ability to motivate and work in a team environment;
  • Possess an adequate physical condition;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (oral and written).
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest.
