Position Overview:
Kerridge Concrete Ltd. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Dispatch Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking orders and modifications, including adjustments for additives and product volumes used per job. This role requires close collaboration with the dispatch team to schedule deliveries and coordinate arrival times effectively. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date day sheets is essential to ensure proper billing and prevent discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Tracking: Monitor and document all incoming orders and any subsequent changes, such as additional additives or volume adjustments.
Scheduling Assistance: Work closely with the order desk/dispatch team to plan and schedule deliveries, ensuring timely arrivals and efficient use of resources.
Day Sheet Maintenance: Accurately update and maintain the day sheet with all relevant information to ensure correct billing and prevent discrepancies.
Communication: Serve as a liaison between customers, drivers, and the dispatch team to relay accurate information regarding order details and delivery schedules.
Data Entry: Input and manage data related to orders, deliveries, and billing in the company's system with a high degree of accuracy.
Issue Resolution: Assist in identifying and resolving any logistical issues that may arise during the dispatch process to maintain customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a dispatch or logistics role is required. Familiarity with the concrete industry is an asset.
Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and maintain attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and customers.
Technical Proficiency: Competence in using computer systems and software for data entry and scheduling.
Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team to achieve common goals.
Working Conditions:
Working from dispatch office. The dispatch assistant will have base hours starting between 8am and 10am and ending between 5pm and 7pm with overtime as needed; however, flexibility may be required during peak/slow periods.
Occasional requirement to assist with tasks outside of standard duties as needed to support the dispatch team.
