About the Client:
We're seeking a compassionate caregiver for a woman in her senior years who recently returned home from the hospital following a cardiac episode. She experienced a stroke last year and continues to manage mobility challenges using a walker. While she maintains her independence in many areas, she needs support with household tasks that have become physically demanding. She lives in a quiet rural area just outside Lancaster in Linden, surrounded by farmland. She's not an early riser and prefers a relaxed pace to her day.
Responsibilities:
The caregiver will provide light housekeeping support including loading and unloading the dishwasher, doing laundry, changing bed linens, and general tidying throughout the home. You'll assist with meal preparation and occasionally provide transportation for grocery shopping and errands, as the home is located in a rural area without easy access to stores. You'll also provide supervision and encouragement during showering to ensure safety, though full personal care assistance is not required. The focus is on helping maintain a clean, organized home environment while supporting her daily routine.
What We're Looking For:
We need someone who is calm, patient, reliable, and consistent. The ideal caregiver has experience supporting seniors with mobility limitations, particularly those who use walkers. You should be comfortable with light housekeeping duties and have your own vehicle for occasional transportation needs. English-speaking caregivers are required. This is the family's first time arranging professional care, so clear communication and a warm, reassuring presence are essential. The family wants someone who respects independence while providing the right level of support.
Schedule:
This position is for Monday and Thursday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, totaling six hours per week. The family is starting with this schedule to introduce care gradually and will consider additional hours based on how things progress. Early afternoon timing works best as the client is not an early riser.
