Budtender – Part-Time
We are seeking a knowledgeable, friendly, and customer-focused Budtender to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist customers in selecting cannabis products that suit their needs, and maintain a welcoming, clean, and professional retail environment.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and an interest in cannabis products and education.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide accurate information about cannabis products, including product types, strains, effects, and intended uses
- Ask questions and make appropriate product recommendations based on customer preferences
- Operate the POS system and handle cash and other payment transactions accurately
- Support store sales goals by recommending relevant products and promotions
- Maintain accurate product displays, pricing, and store organization
- Keep the sales floor and work areas clean, organized, and welcoming
- Receive, organize, and stock products and supplies as required
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Comply with all applicable Ontario cannabis retail laws and regulations
- Protect customer privacy and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
Requirements
- Must be 19 years of age or older
- Valid CannSell certification
- Successful completion of a required criminal background check
- Minimum 1 year of retail or customer service experience
- Previous cash-handling and cashiering experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to learn and confidently communicate cannabis product information
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing throughout shifts
- Frequent reaching above the waist, chest, and shoulder level, as well as below the waist
- Frequent to continuous use of manual dexterity in both hands
- Frequent lifting and moving of boxes, products, and supplies
- Ability to safely perform general retail and stocking duties
Schedule
- Part-time / Casual
- Weekend availability required
- Additional coverage as needed
- Must be available for occasional on-call shifts
