We’re looking for an enthusiastic, energetic individual to join our weekend team in a dynamic All-round varied and supportive role. Weekend shifts are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays from 4:30 PM until midnight and involve planning and implementing recreational activities for our residents including games, crafts, and larger events. This team member will also serve a small section in the dining room or support other servers during dinner service, responding to resident alarms, be responsible for some food preparation (about 1 hour during the later part of the shift cutting fruits and vegetables) and keep the building secure through the evening. Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement recreational programs tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Facilitate group activities that promote social interaction, physical fitness, and cognitive stimulation.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to understand individual preferences and needs.
Skills
A suitable candidate has:
· An ability to think creatively about recreational programming
· An ability to work alone and be self directed
· Some serving experience or ability to learn
· Some food prep experience or ability to learn
· Ability to work with varying abilities in a non judgemental way
Qualifications
- One year of experience leading and implementing activities for people with varying abilities
- First Aid
- Successful criminal record check review
- Serving it Right
- Foodsafe
