GN Systems Inc. is presently hiring energetic customer service oriented rural internet satellite dish installer. Multiple positions are available, with opportunities to work under various product lines. You must supply your own communications hand tools.

Any specialty tools will be provided.

Required Qualifications: .

  • Experience installing/mounting satellite dish
  • Experience troubleshooting satellite dish
  • Experience installing data and voice cabling (Cat5e & Cat 6)
  • Experience installing fiber optics
  • Able to hang TV Brackets, and TV’s
  • Crimp and terminate BNC connectors
  • Strong command of the English language – both spoken & written
  • Neat appearance and good customer service skills
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Ability to accommodate a variety of assignments at various locations
  • Maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
  • Physically fit, including the ability to lift heavy objects, tools and climb a ladder

Desired Skills:

  • The Satellite Technician position can be physically challenging as you will be climbing and working from ladders, in some cases in excess of 30 feet
  • Good understanding of Computers and iPhone/Android apps
  • Have a Smart Phone for work purposes
  • Installing, troubleshooting and servicing DISH satellite systems/products in customer’s home
  • You will interact with consumers daily and should be comfortable and able to effectively communicate/train customers
  • Ability to pull, terminate, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cables
  • Experience using a scissor and boom lifts (Certification Required)
  • Knowledge of communication cabling , fiber optics & telecommunication products
  • Current Fall Protection, ladder safety & WHIMS certification, liability insurance (contractors only) and WSIB (contractors only)
  • Possession of any BICSI, trade or manufacturers certificates an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Comfortable with using handheld tools and working at heights
  • You will be exposed to a variety of weather elements including: heat, cold, wind, and rain
  • Installation, termination, & testing of Cat5e, 6/6a, UTP cable & multimode/singlemode fibre
  • Follow safe drilling practices
  • Willing to work flexible schedules including daytime, evenings, weekends & overtime as required by the project
  • Follow safe work practices
  • You will be available to complete online training at home during your training period on your time
  • Willing to relocate
  • Willing to travel

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $16.00 to $25.00 /hour
