NURSING GRADUATE GUARANTEE (NGG) – Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is excited to invite new nursing graduates and Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) to join our exceptional team of nurses! Start your nursing career on the right path with extended orientation, training and support, and opportunities to transition into full-time employment within 12 months!
The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program is a Ministry of Health (MOH) funded program that supports new nursing graduates transition into practice by providing them with 12 weeks (450 hours) of full-time employment above staffing complement. Once complete, participating nurses are offered full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) within 12 months of their start date.
As a participant of the NGG program at RVH, you will have access to:
- RVH's comprehensive orientation program, including General Hospital Orientation, Interprofessional Orientation and Unit-specific Orientation
- 12 weeks with a Nurse Preceptor that works directly with you to support your NGG transition into practice period and build on your prior education and experience
- RVH's Nursing Mentorship Program where you're paired with an experienced nurse who provides support and guidance throughout your first year of nursing, and workshops with other new nurses
- A 3-day Simulation Workshop to enhance your clinical nursing skills
Successful candidates in the NGG 2026-2027 cohort will join our Float Team, which supports multiple units across Rehab/ALC, Acute Medicine, and Surgery.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- Graduated with a diploma in nursing from an accredited university or college
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) within the last 12 months, in the General Class prior to start date
- Eligible for the Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) Program
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required
- Membership with the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO) or other professional nursing associations preferred
- Consolidation within an acute healthcare facility

Please note: Successful candidates must be willing to accept and maintain a full-time position or equivalent of hours for a minimum of six (6) months following completion of the 450 hours within 12 months of start date. This commitment is a requirement of participation in the NGG program.
