Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Auto Body Technician to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will have experience in collision repair, bodywork, and vehicle restoration, ensuring that all work meets high-quality standards. The Auto Body Technician will be responsible for diagnosing damages, repairing vehicle bodies, and restoring vehicles to their original condition using a variety of tools and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage and develop repair plans to restore the vehicle’s appearance and structural integrity
- Perform body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and frame straightening
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and safely
- Sand, prime, paint, and finish vehicle surfaces to match original specifications
- Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety standards
- Document repair processes and communicate progress with supervisors and customers as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or similar role within a dealership or independent shop
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques required for bodywork tasks
- Knowledge of automotive repair procedures and collision repair standards
- Ability to work with precision and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose vehicle damages accurately
- Prior experience with dealership service centers or mechanic experience is highly desirable
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor for extended periods
