United Sport & Cycle is looking for an Ecommerce & Digital Experience Specialist to own and grow our online customer experience.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role responsible for the performance, functionality, merchandising and ongoing evolution of our Shopify Plus ecommerce platform. You’ll combine ecommerce expertise, digital merchandising, UX, content, analytics and project management to make it easier for customers to find what they need, discover something new and ultimately choose United.
You’ll work closely with Buying, Marketing, Systems, Operations and other teams to bring products, promotions, services and ideas to life online—while continually looking for ways to make the customer experience better.

What You’ll Do
Own the Ecommerce Experience
- Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance and functionality of United’s Shopify Plus website.
- Maintain and optimize product information, collections, taxonomy, tags, metafields, filters, navigation and menus.
- Configure and troubleshoot Shopify functionality, applications, integrations and ecommerce workflows.
- Support promotions, product launches, campaigns and new online initiatives.
- Monitor the site for content, merchandising, technical and functionality issues and proactively resolve them.
- Test new functionality and website changes across desktop and mobile before launch.
Merchandise & Improve the Digital Customer Journey
- Build and maintain landing pages, collection experiences, campaign pages and other digital shopping experiences.
- Merchandise seasonal categories, products, services and campaigns based on business priorities and customer behaviour.
- Improve product discovery, navigation and site usability.
- Identify opportunities to reduce friction and improve engagement and conversion.
- Ensure digital experiences are mobile-friendly, accessible, intuitive and consistent.
Create Content That Connects
- Create and maintain customer-facing website content including landing pages, service content, blogs, buying guides, gift guides and campaigns.
- Ensure content is accurate, engaging and aligned with United’s brand voice.
- Apply SEO and accessibility best practices.
- Coordinate website experiences with email, social, advertising and other marketing channels to create a consistent customer journey.
Lead Digital Projects
- Lead ecommerce and digital initiatives from idea and requirements gathering through implementation, testing, launch and optimization.
- Research and evaluate Shopify apps, third-party platforms, integrations and other digital solutions.
- Translate business needs into practical customer-facing solutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and technology partners.
- Identify risks, solve problems and continuously improve new initiatives after launch.
Use Data to Make Better Decisions
- Use Shopify Analytics, GA4, Search Console, Microsoft Clarity, onsite search and other available data to understand customer behaviour and website performance.
- Turn insights into actionable improvements in merchandising, UX, content and conversion.
- Establish digital standards, processes and best practices that create consistency across the site.
- Help maintain strong governance of product data, taxonomy, content and digital experiences.
- Stay current with ecommerce, UX, accessibility, SEO and digital trends and bring forward ideas that could benefit United.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, analytical and comfortable getting things done.
You’ll bring:
- Experience managing ecommerce websites, digital platforms or content management systems; Shopify experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce, digital merchandising, UX and content strategy.
- Experience working with large product catalogues and structured product data is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using analytics and customer behaviour data to make decisions.
- Understanding of responsive/mobile-first design, accessibility and SEO fundamentals.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is an asset.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments and with external partners.
- A willingness to challenge assumptions, ask questions and recommend better solutions.
- A genuine interest in improving the customer experience and making digital commerce better.
