Job Overview:
Electrowind is seeking a CNC Programmer to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new CNC programs for production runs and modifying existing programs to suit different machines. You will collaborate closely with machine operators and the production manager to ensure that parts are produced to specification, adjusting programs or machinery settings, as necessary, to ensure optimal performance and quality. The ideal candidate will have training or a background in CNC programming, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience or training in reading blueprints is required. Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Mastercam or Robotmaster is of benefit but not necessary as we can train alongside an experienced programmer. On the job training will be provided alongside an experienced programmer.
Responsibilities:
· CNC Program Development: Create and modify CNC programs based on part drawings for new development projects, ensuring optimal quality and minimal cycle time.
· Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC programs and setups as they arise to maintain continuous production flow.
· Process Optimization: Contribute to the development of new processes and systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency, including analyzing statistical data and making necessary adjustments to improve output.
· Library Management: Maintain and update a library of CNC programs, configurations, and setup documentation for quick reference and future use.
· Drawing Interpretation: Study and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints to accurately create CNC programs.
· Standard Times and Operational Routings: Assist in developing standard times, operational routings, and other process documentation to ensure consistency and efficiency in production.
· Compliance and Safety: Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to environmental, health, and safety standards.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with managers, engineers, and other departments to implement business objectives and align CNC programming efforts with overall production goals.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience or training as a CNC Programmer.
- Experience using MasterCam or Robotmaster or other CAM software is of benefit.
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of CNC machinery principles, fabrication techniques, and machining practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering, and manufacturing drawings.
- Basic understanding of math and geometry for accurate measurements and calculations.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Additional certifications in CNC programming or related fields (preferred).
Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills
