The Commissioning Support Coordinator II supports commissioning readiness, system turnover, commissioning path management, and reporting to ensure timely execution of commissioning activities.The role provides coordination, tracking, reporting, and documentation support for commissioning, handover, Harbour Acceptance Trials (HAT), Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT), and vessel delivery activities.
Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.
What you’ll do
- Support commissioning path development and commissioning path package (CP) attribution.
- Maintain commissioning readiness trackers, dashboards, action logs and status reports.
- Track C-40 handovers, turnover packages, and system readiness status.
- Monitor commissioning critical path activities and advise Director, Test & Trials of potential schedule impacts and readiness concerns.
- Coordinate documentation, Test Agendas, comments, approvals, and transmittals.
- Maintain commissioning, deficiency, action item, and handover registers.
- Support Commissioning Readiness Reviews (CRR) and readiness reporting.
- Prepare weekly and monthly commissioning metrics, dashboards, and management reports.
- Coordinate activities between Test & Trials, Production, Engineering, SCM, QA, Vendors, Owner, and Class.
- Support sea trial readiness planning, logistics coordination, and action tracking.
- Support certification readiness tracking and associated inspection status reporting.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives, reporting tools, and workflow efficiencies.
- Maintain clear and timely communication on work progress and issues.
Demonstrate willingness to learn, build technical capability, and take on increasing responsibility.

What you’ll bring
- Degree or Diploma in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 3–7 years of experience supporting commissioning, construction, shipbuilding, quality assurance, project coordination, operations, or industrial projects.
- Meet requirements of Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Canadian Government Security Clearance.
- Experience maintaining tracking systems, dashboards, databases, reporting tools, or document control systems.
- Experience supporting system handovers, turnover packages, deficiency management, or readiness tracking considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, Power Platform, SQL, or similar reporting and data management tools.
- Experience with Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent scheduling software considered an asset.
- Project Management certification (PMP/CAPM) considered an asset.
- Combination of relevant education, training, and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all situations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow structured commissioning and testing processes.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently within defined responsibilities.
- Able to support multiple concurrent activities while meeting schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to understand and respond to stakeholder needs.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills (verbal and written English).
- Proficient in standard business and productivity software for documentation, reporting, and coordination.

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
