Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic principal baker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our bakery, ensuring that products are prepared, presented, and served to the highest standards. This position requires a passion for food, excellent customer service skills, collaborative teamwork, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare baked goods, pastries, bread.
- Prepare a wide range of food products, meals, coffee, and beverages.
- Sanitize work areas and equipment to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and answering questions about our products.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Help with inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.
- Maintain organization in the kitchen and perform cleaning tasks at the end of each shift.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Requirements
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and handling transactions.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
- Knowledge and experience, in a commercial or home setting, of baking cakes, pies, pastries; sourdough bread baking can be learned on the job.
- Previous experience in food service or the food industry is preferred but not required.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively during busy shifts.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and baking techniques.
- Primary language of operations is English and fluency in French is an asset.

Pay: From $17.20 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
