TRANSIT DRIVER

Reports to:
Client Services Manager
Probationary salary: $18.00 per hour + Incentive Pay
Full Time salary: $19.00 per hour + Incentive Pay
Position Summary:
- Transport clients to-&-from appointments using company vehicles & other duties assigned.
- Being responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles, safety of all passengers and respect for other users of the road.
- Responsible for daily vehicle safety inspection and reports any deficiencies to supervisor
- Providing high quality customer service
- Maintaining and adhering to schedules and abiding by Highway Traffic Act, policies, and procedures. Documenting incidents and reporting to supervisor.
- Represents Accessible Care Transit in a positive and professional manner

Selection Criteria:
- Completed Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Possession of a valid non-probationary Ontario Class "G" Driver's License in good standing.
- 2-years of strong face to face customer service skills as demonstrated through previous work experience.
- 3-year driver’s abstract (with no infractions, offences, convictions, demerit points or accidents – no exceptions) dated within 4 weeks of your application.
- 5-year Auto Insurance Experience (Must NOT have any At-fault accidents in the last 10 years).
- Must be able to provide a clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3).
- Must be able to possess an Emergency First Aid and CPR Class “C” Certificate.
- Must be able to provide a passing Doctor’s Medical Screening/Fitness & functional abilities evaluation.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous driving experience an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of streets and locations within the Region of Peel & surrounding areas.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Able to read, understand, follow written rules & procedures along with verbal instructions.
- An exceptional ability to communicate effectively with a positive attitude and overcome difficult and tense customer interactions.
- Able to handle physical demands of the job. Able to work outside & in all weather conditions
- The nature of the job requires the incumbent to be physically able to assist clients, Lift, Push and Shift body weight, fold walkers and wheelchairs and place in the vehicle, and assist with grocery shopping bags.
- Strong time management and organizational skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with children, frail and elderly individuals.
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment and use appropriate safety equipment to complete job tasks in a safe manner. Able to wear the required uniform.
