Swan Lake Market & Garden is adding to our Bakery Team. We are hiring an experienced and detail oriented baker Full or Part Time, to compliment our production team ensuring consistency, efficiency, and excellence in our daily offerings. Our bakery team is integral to delivering exceptional products and an outstanding customer experience.
As one of our Bakers, you will complete the morning production shift, ensuring the efficient preparation, baking, and presentation of our breads, pastries, muffins, cookies, and other baked goods. You will execute established recipes, provide valuable feedback for ongoing improvements, and help maintain a smooth and well-organized bakery operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of products, including cakes, cookies, pastries, pies, loaves, muffins, and buns
- Follow recipes and baking schedules with accuracy, ensuring consistent quality and production levels
- Ensure proper proofing, baking, cooling, and finishing techniques for all items
- Maintain high visual and quality standards for all baked goods
- Operate and maintain bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers, dough sheeter, slicers, etc.) safely and effectively
- Organize and rotate inventory, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and tracking of ingredients and finished products
- Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, keeping a clean and organized work environment
- Work collaboratively with the Bakery Manager, providing feedback on recipes, production flow, and potential efficiencies
- Support team members, ensuring smooth shift transitions and consistent performance
- Assist customers, answering questions and providing recommendations
Who You Are
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Confident in making quality products from scratch — no shortcuts, just quality craftsmanship
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to follow structured production schedules
- Comfortable working with bakery equipment, including proofers, mixers, and ovens
- Reliable and punctual, able to manage early morning shifts (starting at 4 or 5 am, including one day of the weekend)
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs as needed
- Committed to a SAFE work environment, following all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Food Safe certification preferred
- Must have own transportation, as public transit does not accommodate shift hours
