Position: Medical Radiation Technologist / X-Ray Technologist (Part-Time)
Location: Ajax, ON
Position Information
We are currently recruiting a highly motivated and enthusiastic X-Ray Technologist to perform general X-Rays on Alternate Saturdays.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Diploma (Degree) in Radiography from an accredited institution.
- Currently registered in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CMRITO)
- OAR CBMD certification or equivalent
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to deal effectively with patients and their families, co-workers, physicians, and other health care staff
- Strong sense of personal and professional accountability, flexibility, and initiative to achieve high quality examinations and overall functioning of the department.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Canada is preferred
- Perform general radiographic procedures efficiently without supervision
- Greet patients, assess the ordered examination based on the relevance of patient clinical history, explain method of procedures as well
- Set up and adjust technical factors depending on patients' condition
- Perform periodic quality control tests for X-ray equipment and radiation protection lead shields
- Discuss an appropriate x-ray exam for clinical concern with the referring doctor
- Report urgent cases to radiologist on duty
- Safely use PPE, practice hand hygiene and disinfect equipment regularly
