Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented Part-Time Houseman / Laundry Attendant (Dual Position) to join our hotel team.
This is a dual-role position, with responsibilities assigned based on hotel occupancy and operational needs. The successful candidate will support the Housekeeping Department by maintaining clean and organized public areas, assisting with housekeeping operations, responding to guest requests, and ensuring hotel linens and towels are properly washed, dried, folded, and prepared for daily use.
The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, detail-oriented, and willing to assist wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of hotel public areas, including hallways, stairwells, elevators, entrances, public washrooms, and other assigned spaces
- Collect soiled linens, towels, garbage, and recycling from guest floors and transport them to designated areas
- Restock housekeeping closets and deliver clean linens, towels, amenities, and supplies throughout the hotel
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, including delivery of towels, bedding, amenities, cots, cribs, and other requested items
- Support the Housekeeping team with room supplies, cleaning needs, moving items, and other duties as assigned
- Sort soiled linens and towels and operate commercial washers and dryers safely and efficiently
- Wash, dry, fold, organize, and prepare hotel linens and towels for daily operations
- Inspect linens for stains, damage, or quality concerns and separate items as required
- Maintain an organized supply of clean linen and assist with stocking housekeeping areas as needed
- Keep the laundry room and equipment areas clean, safe, and organized while following proper chemical handling and workplace safety procedures
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, housekeeping, laundry, janitorial, or cleaning experience is an asset but not required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel environment
- Flexible and willing to perform both Houseman and Laundry Attendant duties based on operational needs
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry laundry, linens, supplies, and other items as required
- Ability to push and maneuver housekeeping and laundry carts
- Comfortable working in a physically active, fast-paced environment
Availability Requirements
- Part-time availability
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on hotel needs
- Weekend availability is required
- Availability for weekdays, evenings, and holidays as scheduled
- Hours may vary based on hotel occupancy and operational requirements
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
