Position Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving room night production and revenue growth through proactive solicitation, lead development, and relationship management. This role plays a key part in strengthening the hotel's market presence, generating new business opportunities, and supporting the overall sales and revenue strategy.
Working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing and operational teams, the Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and securing new business, maintaining existing client relationships, and ensuring the hotel achieves established revenue and occupancy goals while delivering exceptional service consistent with Radisson Blu brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Proactively solicit, negotiate, and secure new business opportunities across assigned market segments
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships through regular communication and account management
- Identify new business opportunities and recommend strategies to increase market share and revenue production
- Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual room night and revenue targets
- Execute consistent prospecting activities, including: Sales calls / Client appointments / Site inspections / Networking events
- Conduct hotel tours and presentations for prospective clients
- Participate in sales missions, trade shows, industry events, and community networking opportunities to generate new business.
Account Management & Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, travel partners, associations, sports organizations, Indigenous partners, SMERF organizations, and other key stakeholders
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries, requests for proposals (RFPs), and business opportunities
- Monitor account production and develop strategies to increase client engagement and revenue contribution
- Represent the hotel in a professional manner while promoting the Radisson Blu brand within the local marketplace.
Revenue & Performance Management
- Support the hotel's revenue objectives through strategic account management and business development initiatives
- Maintain accurate forecasting and production data for assigned accounts and market segments
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth
- Prepare and submit: Weekly sales activity reports / Monthly production reports / Quarterly business reviews / Annual account plans
Administration & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate client records, account activities, and sales opportunities within Delphi, Opera, and other hotel systems
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, presentations, contracts, and proposals
- Collaborate with Operations, Front Office, Revenue Management, and other departments to ensure a seamless client and guest experience
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to hotel-wide initiatives that support revenue growth and guest satisfaction
- Adhere to all company policies, emergency procedures, fire safety regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of hotel sales experience required
- Previous experience in a Sales Manager or comparable hospitality sales role preferred
- Knowledge of the Richmond, Vancouver, and Greater Vancouver Regional District markets is considered an asset
- Previous experience within the Associations, Sports, Indigenous, and/or SMERF markets is considered a strong asset
- Demonstrated ability to generate new business and achieve sales targets
- Strong communication, presentation, networking, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Experience using hotel sales systems such as Delphi and Opera is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working within a branded hotel environment is considered an asset
- Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation preferred
Working Conditions
- Office-based role with significant on-property presence during projects
- Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business demand
- Physical mobility required to oversee property spaces and operations.

Pay: $67,000.00-$77,500.00 per year
