Job Overview
We are looking for both experienced and inexperienced Truss Plant Production Workers to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating various machinery and tools to assemble, fabricate, and produce high-quality trusses for construction projects. The ideal candidate will be very reliable, respectful and open to constructive feedback. This position offers opportunities for skill development in heavy equipment operation and assembly processes within a fast-paced industrial setting.
Duties
- Operate machinery and power tools to assemble and fabricate trusses according to specifications
- Use hand tools, jigs and measuring devices to ensure precise assembly
- Assist with the setup, inspection and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
- Perform quality checks on finished products to meet safety and quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support warehouse operations by loading, unloading, and storing materials as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or warehouse environments is an asset
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with machining, assembly, and hand tools are highly desirable
- Ability to work with power tools safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes related to truss production is advantageous
Work Environment
- Safety sensitive work environment, working in close proximity to dangerous heavy machinery and automated cutting equipment
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work; must have own summer and winter work wear
- Airborne sawdust
- Extended exposure to loud noises
- Must provide own CSA approved safety footwear; all other required PPE provided by employer
Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
