This RF Design Validation/Testing Co-op will support RF test evaluation of RFIC's and multichip modules. Requires background in RF/microwave design. Knowledgeable in RF testing and RF equipment setup. Proficient in data processing and presentation tools such as Matlab, MS Excel and Power Point. Good data summary and presentation skills are desired. The student will perform RF tests, evaluate and summarize results, and present data to design engineers. The person should understand RF parameters and be able to communicate effectively. The Co-op may also be involved in design evaluation, simulation and debugging of RF switches, Filters, Couplers, PA's, LNA's and FEM's. The Co-op will be exposed to and mentored in advanced RFIC design/measurement topics so a strong desire to learn and initiative is required. The student should be a self-starter and enjoy being hands on.
Must have the ability to work full-time as a Co-Op during the Co-Op Term which runs from Jan 2022 to Dec 2022 for a 12-month term. The following are optional term modifications for qualified candidates:
January 2022, 8-month term to August 2022
January 2022, 16-month extension to April 2023
May 2022, 12-month term to April 2023
May 2022, 16-month term to August 2023.
Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor or Master Degree’s program, and must be returning to school after the completion of this Co-Op (will not consider graduated students)
Strong proficiency in Excel and data organization
Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is an asset
Strong background in RF and Microwave design
RFIC Design and Simulation experience will be a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience in using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources
