Job Overview
Looking for a Custodian for a small plaza in Scarborough. The ideal candidate will live in the area and be able to walk to the plaza, or have a reliable way of attending the plaza 3 times a week. Main responsibilities are litter pickup and changing of garbage bags in cans. There are no set hours. You can do this job during the day or night, whatever fits your schedule as long as it's done 3 times per week and the plaza maintains a clean appearance at all times. All cleaning equipment will be provided and stored on site. This is an all year round position. Pay will be a flat rate of $700 per month sent by etransfer.
Join our team as a Plaza Custodian and be the vital force behind maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the plaza’s common areas.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning of all plaza areas, including sweeping, litter pick up and trash removal
- Conduct regular inspections of walkways, driving areas and green areas
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor spaces such as walkways, driving/parking areas to ensure an attractive environment.
- Replace trash bags and dispose in bin on site
- Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly
Requirements
- Live within walking distance of the plaza or have reliable transportation to the plaza 3 times a week
- Prior experience in cleaning or commercial cleaning is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting moderate loads
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to established procedures
Pay: $700.00 per month
