Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team. This position is mobile, a service truck will be provided for you. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with various hand and power tools, and the ability to work on complex systems including electrical and hydraulic components. The technician will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support our operations and customer needs.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, asphalt equipment, loaders, graders & more.
- Conduct inspections using schematics and technical manuals to identify issues accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools to execute repairs and assembly tasks.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, hydraulic components, and mechanical failures.
- Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery and upgrades to existing systems.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
- Licensed Heavy Duty Equipment Technician preferred but apprenticeship opportunity considered for the right candidate.
- Strong mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic testing devices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and customers.
- Relevant certifications or training in mechanical or electrical systems are preferred.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
