Pathfinder Youth Centre Society is currently looking for applicants for a paid 19 week Employment Beginnings Program scheduled to begin on October 29, 2018.

If you WANT TO WORK but lack workplace confidence, certifications and skills to find or hold a job then this program may be a good fit for you!

Program hours will be between 9:00am-3:00pm Monday to Friday with the possibility of weekend / evening hours during work experience dependent on employer needs.

Requirements

  • Have open availability from October 29 2018, to March 8 2019 (19 week program)
To be considered for this program you must:
  • Be between the ages of 15 and 30
  • Not currently attending school or working full time
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Not in receipt of or entitled to Employment Insurance (EI) Benefits
  • Facing employment barriers
  • Have open availability from October 29 2018, to March 8 2019 (19 week program)
Benefits

This program focuses on life and employment skills and contains a 6 week in group training followed by a 13 week work experience component. The program also offers multiple industry certifications such as Foodsafe, OFA Level 1, WHMIS, SuperHost, Serving it Right, Barista/Cafe Essentials, and Cashier/Cash Handling.

You will be paid at minimum wage ($12.65) for 30 hours per week during the group portion and employer paid (per employer wage rate and scheduled hours) for the work experience component.
