We are looking for an Academic Coordinator to fill a maternity leave contract position for 3 days per week. This position will provide academic advising and coordinate activities to help students achieve good academic standing in all academic courses. In conjunction with the Associate Dean, Academic Education, the position will oversee the maintenance of high standards in all academic areas and the successful teaching of all courses for the College.
The successful candidate will participate in committees pertaining to academic education delivery which includes acting in an advisory capacity for Monitoring Committee, ADNSA, Exam Committee, and OSCE Appeals Committee. Duties will include: liaising with students, class representatives, Office Academic Affairs staff, and Faculty when required to investigate or resolve academic matters; student advising and consultation; providing in class course evaluations; performing academic administration work including conducting quality assurance reviews of exams; assisting in the development and preparation of appropriate sections of the Academic Calendar and Faculty handbooks; working with Student Services to plan and implement orientation activities and presentations for new students; assisting with tutoring services for students in need; onboard, orient, and train new faculty on College policies, academic integrity, accessibility requirements, and delivery expectations; conducting a range of analytical work in support of academic activities and preparing reports as required. This position is 3 days per week.
- Post graduate degree preferably in education or related field
- Knowledge and background in education is an asset
- Awareness of accessibility and accommodations in an educational institution
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Analytical, decision-making and project management ability in order to initiate, develop, implement and manage a wide variety of complex projects with excellent organizational and time management skills
