Scope of Role
General Warehouse duties include:
Picking orders from computerized handheld scanner
Receiving shipments using computerized handheld scanner
Driving forklift or other Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV)
Packing orders through use of courier software
Follow strict safety procedures
All other duties as assigned
Reports to Supervisor
Required Skills
Must demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated to meet schedules and deadlines
Ability to pick orders and receive accurately to meet set productivity standards
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
Some heavy lifting required
Responsibility
Associates will be responsible for achieving and maintaining their own productivity
Associates will also proactively report any situation or activity preventing their adherence to the standard
Any exceptions or adjustments made due to accommodations; special projects, or assignments must be approved by the DC Manager
Promote and maintain high standards of attendance
Associates will be responsible for the cleanliness of the DC and assigned specific areas to maintain
Associates must:
maintain a respectful workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and violence
participate in all safety training courses
if experienced or witnessed – report any unsafe practices, injuries, incidents, near misses, or hazardous situations to a Joint Health and Safety Team member and/or management
maintain valid certification/license to operate PIVs
Productivity – Receivers and Pickers
Associates must maintain 95% productivity or greater per week
Associates who fall below 80% productivity (or after eight weeks for a new hire) may be required to fully retrain on the standard work procedures with a trainer for a minimum of 2-5 days – the DC Manager will approve all retraining
Errors are recorded and reviewed monthly – the corporate standard is 0.025%
Any associate above the standard will be documented and addressed through coaching and if necessary, discipline for not maintaining the minimum standard
Physical Demands Analysis (PDA)
Standing frequently > 60 minutes
Push/Pull frequently < 10 kg
Walking frequently > 60 minutes
Climbing stairs/ladders (washrooms on second level)
Kneeling/Crouching > 60 minutes
Reaching at shoulder height
Lifting < 25 kg
Twisting – WEST (Wrist, Elbow, Shoulder, Torso) > 60 minutes
