Job Description

You will be responsible for the successful completion of restoration, renovation and conservation projects in the $3,000,000.00 to $8,000,000.00 range. All of our work is prequalified and our clients demand the best level of service and the highest quality of construction.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Be a proven expert in CCDC contract documents and Canadian Construction Building Codes
  • Perform fact based reviews of specifications and how they affect our projects, and report them to team members
  • Manage and take full responsibility for the tender and construction process and improve opportunities to increase anticipated revenue by proposing alternate materials and or systems when applicable
  • Develop positive relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Accurately and independently review and interpret the plans and specifications
  • Capitalize on any changes to the contract
  • Develop and prepare detailed quotation for extras and changes to the contract in a timely manner
  • Explain the project in detail to the subcontractors and work with them to deliver competitive pricing
  • Analyzed bid proposals from sub trades
  • Prepare proposals and estimates based on subcontractor input
  • Issue purchase orders for materials and subcontractors
  • Formulate project schedules and budgets throughout the project, updating weekly as required
  • Attend all project site meeting, record minutes and distribute when required
  • Review/approve shop drawings submitted to clients
  • Complete and update all project submittals as per specifications
  • Complete all project draws and related documents
  • Manage project close out documents
  • Lead by example

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a project manager in the Building Restoration field
  • Post-secondary education preferably in Architecture or Engineering or C of Q in carpentry or masonry
  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract
  • Ability to travel when required
