BFM Foundation (Canada) is a national Christian organization with over 52 Mission Thrift Stores across Canada. The net revenue from all Mission Thrift Stores is devoted to the Joint Ministry of BFM Foundation (Canada) and Bible League Canada. These funds are used to establish adult literacy programs, provide church planter training, children’s ministry programs, and distribute Bibles in many places around the world. The stores are operated primarily by dedicated volunteers.
Mission Thrift Store Chatham is currently seeking a full-time Floor Supervisor who understands and supports the vision and purpose of BFM Foundation (Canada).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Workwith Store Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of the store front
- Communicate clearly and effectively with volunteers and staff
- Work with the Store Manager to develop an annual evaluation to assess the front cash area needs and to identify areas for improvement on an ongoing basis
- Communicate regularly with volunteers, staff and customers to gain community support and to solicit input to improve the stores activities
- Resolve any customers issues or concerns that may arise while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Store Merchandising
- Assist in training, guiding, developing and motivating team members to reach and exceed their full potential
- Work with department leads to ensure effective merchandising for store front
- Assist with weekly, monthly, and semi-annual ordering of supplies
- Safe float counts
- Oversee store Loyalty program
- Perform basic math functions to collect payments and make change
- Operate registers, scanners, scales and credit card/debit card terminals
- Handle exchanges and refunds in a quick, efficient manner
- Collect payments and bag purchases for customers
- Maintain accurate cash drawers
Experience
- Experience with retail sales, working with volunteers is preferred

- Understanding of retail sales, leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/volunteer organizations would be considered an asset
