Shield Security Services is currently hiring security guards in the Ottawa area who possess a Reliability or Secret Government clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol and monitor premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
- Write detailed reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
- Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances
- Monitor and operate CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment to maintain a safe and secure environment
- Perform access control duties by verifying identification and ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises
Requirements:
- Must have Reliability or Secret Government clearance
- Proven minimum of 1 year work experience as a Security Guard
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Strong observation skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication in English (bilingualism in French an asset)
- First Aid/CPR certification
Preferred:
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
- Use of Force Certification
