Position Overview
The Multi-Discipline QA Inspector is responsible for verifying the mechanical construction activities like piping, structural, pressure vessel and rotating equipment are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements.
This role is based in Edmonton, so commute or relocation will be required to provides on-site quality oversight to ensure work is completed safely, correctly, and right the first time, supporting successful project delivery and turnover.
Responsibilities
- Perform all mechanical inspection activities as per the project requirements.
- Ensure all mechanical ITP stages are followed, verified, and properly documented.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, piping isometrics drawings, and project specifications accurately.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct surveillance, witness points, and hold points as per approved ITP's and contractor RFI's.
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
- Identify, document, and report Non-Conformances (NCRs); follow up on corrective/preventive actions.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and construction teams to resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and organized QA documentation, logs, checklists, and reports.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of all inspection reports, test records, and related documentation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior inspectors when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 10 Years of QA Experience with owners or EPC's
- Minimum CWB Level 2 required.
- Experience on oil & gas, pipeline, power, or heavy industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Inspection procedures, tools, and test equipment.
- Ability to interpret and apply Civil & Mechanical codes and standards.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and digital QA/QC application.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to site safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with sub contractors and project teams.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of performing under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
