POSITION OVERVIEW

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is a dynamic role that reports to the Branch Manager for Unified Systems Group (USG), a division of the Telecon Group in Calgary, AB. The A/V Technician will support the installation of A/V, integration and automation equipment for the client(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead or work alongside a team on-site through daily required tasks
Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, switching and control systems issues
Technical installation of audiovisual systems including: equipment rack fabrications, site preparations, terminate/calibrate audio and video equipment
Implement control systems, ranging from basic to intermediate to support client’s needs
Troubleshoot technical problems arising in the equipment and deliver solutions

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 2 years of commercial AV experience and/or 3+ years of data/comm experience
Installation experience with basic AV system projects
Proven experience managing small/medium size jobs
Knowledge of commercial construction environments (power, conduit, core drills, etc.)
Strong understanding of audio-visual components, displays and videoconferencing equipment
Understands control system products and applications (Crestron/AMX, QSC, Bi-Amp, BSS, etc.)
Knowledge of Audio DSP, Networked A/V, Networking Systems
CTS certification is preferred but not required
Ability to read blueprints and drawings
A combination of equivalent experience and education may be considered

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be willing to travel in Western Canada
Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
Must be comfortable to work in various weather conditions
Must be comfortable to work at heights
Must be able to lift, manipulate and carry up to 50 lbs
Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
