Plumbing Operations Manager

The Opportunity
The Plumbing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the plumbing department, ensuring
projects and service work are planned, coordinated, and executed efficiently while maintaining the highest
standards of quality, safety, and customer service. This role provides leadership to the plumbing team, manages
scheduling and departmental performance, collaborates with internal teams, and supports business growth through
operational excellence. The ideal candidate is an experienced plumbing professional with strong leadership,
organizational, and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support the plumbing team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous
improvement.
- Oversee the daily operations of the plumbing department, ensuring efficiency and compliance with company
standards.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and resources to meet project and service deadlines.
- Monitor department performance, labour productivity, and project progress.
- Provide technical guidance and operational support to field staff.
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, dispatch, and office staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Review schedules, reports, and project documentation to support department performance.
- Conduct occasional site visits to monitor quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Support business growth through process improvements and customer retention.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in the plumbing industry, with leadership/supervisory experience is preferred.
- Valid Plumbing Certificate of Qualification (306A or equivalent is preferred).
- Strong knowledge of commercial, residential, and/or industrial plumbing systems.
- Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Quickbooks.
- Experience with Field Service Management Software is considered an asset.
