They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electronics Designer to join their engineering team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines electronics design, engineering project management, manufacturing support, and continuous product improvement.

Position Overview

Working closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, you will play a key role in developing new products, enhancing existing designs, resolving production issues, and ensuring high product reliability throughout the product lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectronics Design & Product Development
- Design and develop analog and digital electronic circuits for medical devices and healthcare workstation products.
- Create schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design software.
- Develop, debug, and support embedded electronic systems and firmware.
- Perform circuit simulation, testing, validation, verification, and design optimization.
- Select, evaluate, and qualify electronic components and subsystems.
- Design production test fixtures, automated test equipment, and manufacturing test jigs.
- Support regulatory and compliance testing, including EMC, EMI, ESD, EFT, Surge, UL, IEC, and other applicable standards.
- Participate in product improvement initiatives, design reviews, and engineering change activities.
Technical Project Leadership
- Lead electronics development activities from concept through production release.
- Manage engineering projects, ensuring milestones, deliverables, budgets, and timelines are achieved.
- Coordinate with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, and external suppliers throughout the development process.
- Collaborate with PCB fabricators, contract manufacturers, and component vendors during prototype and production phases.
- Drive engineering change requests and design improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Electrical Technologists and junior engineers.
- Support the continued growth and development of the electronics engineering team.
Manufacturing Support, Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Provide technical support to production, service, and quality teams.
- Troubleshoot electronic assemblies, PCBAs, embedded systems, and firmware-related issues.
- Lead root cause investigations for manufacturing and field failures.
- Develop and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to improve product reliability, yield, and manufacturability.
- Support incoming, in-process, and final quality investigations.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electronics design and PCB development.
- Strong experience using Altium Designer or comparable PCB design software.
- Experience with embedded systems, firmware debugging, and electronic troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of:
- Analog and digital circuit design
- AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion
- Circuit protection techniques
- EMC, EMI, ESD, EFT, and regulatory compliance
- Experience working with RFID, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi communication technologies.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, production, or quality engineering environments.
- Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration is considered a strong asset.
