Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant and kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food preparation and safety standards, and ensuring smooth restaurant management. The Food Service Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high-quality food industry standards while fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet safety and quality standards
- Manage POS systems, including Micros POS, for order processing and cash handling
- Lead, motivate, and manage team members through effective supervision, training, and performance evaluations
- Conduct interviewing and hiring of new staff to build a competent team
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health codes
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints promptly to ensure excellent customer service
- Assist in restaurant management tasks such as inventory control, scheduling, and operational planning
- Support hospitality initiatives to enhance guest experience, including serving duties when necessary
- Uphold leadership responsibilities by setting an example for professionalism and teamwork
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within the food service or restaurant industry
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Micros POS or similar platforms
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality roles including hotel or barista experience is highly desirable
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Prior experience in food handling, serving, and cash handling is essential
- Knowledge of food industry standards and restaurant operations is required
- Previous experience with interviewing potential staff members is preferred
