Job Overview:
- The Senior Analyst, Capital Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for the consolidation, analysis, and reporting of capital financial information, including budgets, forecasts, and actual results. This role supports the development of quarterly in-service capital forecasts and provides financial guidance, reporting, and strategic analysis to Asset Management, Finance, and business stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial planning processes, performance analysis, regulatory reporting, audit support, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consolidate capital financial results and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages related to budgets, forecasts, and actual performance.

Support the development and maintenance of quarterly in-service capital forecasts and other forecast updates as required.

Provide financial support, analysis, and advisory services to Asset Management, Finance teams, and business stakeholders to support operational and strategic decision-making.

Assist the Supervisor, Capital FP&A in delivering financial guidance and business partnership support across Finance, Asset Management Governance, and functional business areas.

Consolidate monthly financial data and perform detailed analysis of actual results against budget and forecast, identifying key variances and business drivers.

Consolidate forecast submissions from Asset Management and perform overhead calculations to support accurate forecasting and reporting.

Support the annual budgeting process through financial analysis, variance reporting, and preparation of supporting schedules for Finance and leadership teams.

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Asset Management stakeholders to understand, assess, and validate financial assumptions, forecasting methodologies, and reporting processes.

Contribute to periodic forecasting activities, annual budget cycles, and long-range financial planning initiatives.

Prepare ad hoc reports, financial analyses, and management information requests, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate and actionable insights.

Ensure financial reporting and tracking activities comply with applicable regulatory frameworks, policies, and reporting requirements.

Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, internal control compliance activities, and audit requirements.

Assist in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and managing financial and operational risks, while supporting remediation efforts where required.

Promote awareness and understanding of company policies, procedures, and organizational changes across departments.

Identify opportunities for process improvements, increased efficiency, and enhanced reporting capabilities.

Support additional projects, analyses, and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

Professional finance or accounting designation preferred, such as CPA, CMA, CA, CGA, CFA, or MBA.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive post-qualification experience in financial planning, business performance analytics, financial analysis, or related finance functions.

Previous experience within a public accounting firm is preferred, with approximately 3 years of relevant experience considered an asset.

Experience working within a regulated industry or regulatory environment is preferred.

Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and variance analysis.

Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar enterprise financial systems is preferred.

Solid understanding of financial management principles, regulatory requirements, and reporting frameworks.
