Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for freight transportation across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse staff to ensure efficient loading, delivery, and pickup schedules.
- Assist with the operation of heavy equipment when required for loading or unloading cargo.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in freight transportation and commercial driving operations.
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and transportation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining logs and documentation.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently under various conditions.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
