OVERVIEW
Our client, a leading industrial contractor supporting mining, construction, and heavy equipment maintenance operations, is seeking an experienced Welder to join their growing team. The company prides itself on delivering safe, high-quality maintenance and repair solutions while supporting critical equipment operations in demanding industrial environments.
Reporting to site supervision, the Welder will perform structural repairs, fabrication, rebuilds, and maintenance on heavy mobile equipment and associated components. The successful candidate will be a safety-focused tradesperson who thrives in hands-on environments and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in industrial and mining settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform welding repairs, fabrication, rebuilds, and maintenance on heavy equipment, mining equipment, and structural components
· Repair cracks, worn components, wear plates, teeth, adaptors, buckets, haul truck boxes, and other production equipment
· Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, welding procedures, and specifications to complete work accurately and efficiently
· Perform fitting, gouging, grinding, cutting, and fabrication activities as required to support repair and maintenance projects
· Inspect equipment, identify repair requirements, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions
· Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable safety regulations
· Work collaboratively with supervisors, planners, mechanics, operators, and other trades to support project timelines and equipment reliability
· Maintain clean and organized work areas while participating in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments
REQUIREMENTS
· Journeyperson Welder certification considered an asset
· Minimum 3-5 years of welding experience in industrial, mining, construction, or heavy equipment environments
· Experience with SMAW (Stick Welding) and familiarity with industrial welding processes such as MCAW, FCAW, or SAW
· Experience repairing heavy equipment, structural components, buckets, haul truck boxes, wear plates, or similar equipment
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, welding specifications, and repair procedures
· Strong fabrication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
· Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required
· Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork
· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote mine sites
