Our midstream energy client is seeking a Production Accountant to join its Finance team. This position will manage terminal receipts and dispositions, facility balancing, customer and marketing splits, invoicing and related production accounting activities.
This opportunity is well suited to an early-career Production Accountant who enjoys a deadline-driven environment, solving discrepancies and working with a varied portfolio of midstream facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete full-cycle production accounting for facilities with varying levels of complexity.
- Confirm and record terminal receipts and dispositions.
- Consolidate and validate production data from multiple sources.
- Balance assigned facilities and manage customer and marketing splits, including APMC.
- Analyze metering differences, shrinkage, gas composition and liquid recoveries.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve production accounting issues.
- Invoice customers for services provided.
- Review contracts to understand commercial terms and ensure invoicing accuracy.
- Meet production accounting deadlines while managing competing priorities.
- Provide responsive service to internal teams, customers and external stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting and overall efficiency.
- Take on additional responsibilities as knowledge of the facilities and portfolio develops.
Qualifications
- One to three years of production accounting or comparable industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- CAPPA certification is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of the production accounting cycle and applicable industry deadlines.
- Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across teams and disciplines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Quorum TIPS experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with Petrotranz, JD Edwards, FFVM or Power BI is beneficial.
- Ability to learn and work effectively in multiple software applications with limited instruction.
Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
