Responsibilities:
· Makes sure safety is the number one priority and participates in activities that support this
· Under the direction of the production supervisor, ensures all employees in their work area are working optimally and have all the tools they need
· Updates the KPI boards daily
· Under the direction of the production supervisor, ensure smooth shift transition
· Suggests continuous improvement ideas
· Works with the production supervisor to ensure the smooth and seamless flow of production
· If possible, helps to fix machine issues that might occur during the shift; otherwise report it immediately to the production supervisor
· Understands the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the machines where available
· Trains direct reports on how to do their tasks
· Immediately reports any safety hazards they observe within the factory to the production supervisor
· In collaboration with the production supervisor, ensures that all production areas are always clean and tidy
· Ensures that the production work areas are organized and 5S standards are maintained and improved continuously
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills:
· Previous experience as a Lead Hand is an asset but not required
· Some leadership ability or potential
· Basic computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
· Ability to learn how to use the company ERP system (the successful candidate will be trained)
· Very hands-on with the eagerness to learn new things
· Attention to detail
· Proactive personality
· Willingness to work the morning shift (7:00am – 3:30pm) or afternoon shift (3:30pm to 12:00am) depending on customer demand
· Workdays are from Monday to Friday, but the individual might occasionally work on Saturdays
· Willing to help out in other areas of the factory if needed
· Cannot be allergic to polyester fibers, feathers, or down
