Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and senior populations
- Diagnose vision problems and ocular diseases, developing appropriate treatment plans
- Prescribe corrective lenses, medications, or referrals as necessary
- Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and available optical products
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic to document patient encounters accurately
- Assist with optical sales by recommending suitable eyewear and accessories to enhance patient satisfaction
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry, medical terminology, and industry best practices
Experience
- Proven experience as an optometrist or in a similar clinical setting with a focus on patient care
- Experience working with pediatric and senior patients is preferred
- Familiarity with optical sales techniques and product knowledge is advantageous
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to eye health and ocular conditions
- Prior experience using electronic health records systems such as Epic is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per hour
