Detailed Job Description
What will you do?
The Marketing and Communication Specialist at Prospect is responsible for ensuring the effective promotion of Prospect’s programs and services. This role involves developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating marketing strategies and campaigns to promote Prospect’s services and brand.
Strategy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to promote Prospect’s services and brand
- Help ensure each program/service maintains a referral rate consistent with what is required by their contract.
Content Creation and Management:
- Write and edit promotional materials, press releases, and other communication pieces that help promote Prospect and maintain stakeholder engagement.
- Develop and maintain marketing and communication pieces and strategies to ensure effective engagements across stakeholder groups.
- Contribute to the creation of proposals, grant applications, award submissions, solicitation packages, and other marketing materials by compiling and creating content, proofreading, editing, and ensuring a consistent tone.
Campaign Management:
- Plan, execute, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns across all programs.
Digital Marketing:
- Manage content for social media, website, and other digital platforms to promote programs and services.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for promoting Prospect’s services.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with program departments to align marketing efforts with program goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and industry influencers to enhance promotional efforts.
Event Support:
- Support events, webinars, and other promotional activities, including display, marketing materials, and assistance with media relations.
Brand Management:
- Maintain and update the company’s brand guidelines.
Reporting and Compliance:
- Provide detailed reports of marketing and communications activities to supervisors.
- Comply with company policies/procedures, provincial privacy, and other job-related legislation.
- Champion Prospect’s goals, vision, mission, and brand pillars.
What does it take to do this job?
- Completion of post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Business and/or a combined program
- 5+ years of experience in Marketing and Communications
- Some post-secondary education and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience in other marketing, graphic design, desktop publishing applications are considered assets
- Knowledge of website design and maintenance
- Knowledge of graphic design
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills that may include public speaking and presentations.
- Experience in the non-profit field an asset
