Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Perform bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management.
- Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Prepare and submit GST, payroll, and other government remittances and reports as required.
- Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and audit requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, financial institutions, and government agencies as required.
- Ensure compliance with CPA Canada accounting standards for non-profit, organizational policies, and applicable legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the design of internal financial controls and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist Management with financial analysis, budgetary control, financial reporting, and special projects.
- Accounting for related party transactions among four or more affiliate governing bodies
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting and Finance
- Minimum 3~5 years of relevant accounting experience with full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to exercise and work with discretion
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a non-profit organization, charity, social housing, healthcare, or community-service organization is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in non-profit accounting, fund accounting, grant reporting, and restricted funding is an asset.
- Proficiency with GST, payroll remittances, government reporting, and annual audits is preferred.
- Experience working with multiple entities, programs, or operating divisions is an asset.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
