- Safely and efficiently operate a sit-down forklift for loading/unloading trucks and organizing stock.
- Maintain excellent stock organization and proper storage practices to protect flooring materials (especially moisture-sensitive hardwood and fragile tile).
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of Warehouse Associates — assign tasks, monitor performance, conduct cycle counts and physical inventories, and address performance issues.
- Coordinate closely with contractors, installers, suppliers, drivers, and management to ensure on-time deliveries / installations and resolve any issues.
- Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counting, FIFO stock rotation, and minimizing shrinkage or damage.
- Enforce strict safety protocols and maintain compliance with OHS and all applicable regulatory standards.
- Continuously improve warehouse layout, space utilization, and processes to boost efficiency and reduce errors.
- Track key performance metrics (order accuracy, on-time shipping, inventory levels) and provide regular reports and improvement recommendations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment (flooring or building materials experience is a strong asset).
- Valid sit-down forklift certification and demonstrated safe operating experience.
- Strong proficiency with basic Microsoft Office tools, email, and ideally warehouse/inventory management software.
- Excellent English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking) for documentation and team/customer interactions.
- Physically fit and able to lift 50+ lbs regularly, with the ability to use equipment for heavier items.
