Job Description: Seasonal Restaurant/Banquet Supervisor
Job Purpose: To provide a warm, friendly, and efficient food and beverage service to our guests, ensuring exceptional service standards are delivered and always maintained in line with our guest expectations.
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure employees are trained on their job duties, food preparation, food delivery, customer service, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Develop work schedules, ensure adequate staffing levels, and assign duties to all staff.
- Train and coach staff to maximize performance.
- Monitor staff performance: apply corrective or disciplinary action as required.
- Ensure that all staff members serving liquor are appropriately certified and of legal age.
- Ensure that operating equipment and inventory is used properly and not abused.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all statutory regulations affecting restaurant health and safety and ensure that any safety hazards are identified and rectified.
- Supervise and participate in FOH cleaning activities.
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
- Handle any customer complaints regarding food quality and service as they arise.
- Administer appropriate resolutions to complaints.
- Liaise with customers regarding special functions.
- Perform both opening and closing duties.
- Oversea events within our Banquet dept that include weddings and golf tournaments.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 2 years of direct work experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and direct a team.
- Strong working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, practices, and techniques.
- Experience supervising employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling.
- Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
- Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient with the use of computers, including Microsoft office suite, internet, and email.
- Completion of a responsible beverage service certificate.
Working Conditions
- Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Works with company employees and the public on a continual basis.
- Must be able to transport up to 30 pounds on occasion and up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- The Harvest Golf Club is a multiple award-winning championship golf course located in Kelowna, British Columbia, the heart of BC wine country. The Harvest Golf Club is home to impeccably manicured grounds, vineyard, orchard, championship golf course, and food and beverage facilities and services.
The Harvest Food and Beverage Department consists of a: Casual Dining Restaurant and Lounge, Banquet and Private party Catering, Beverage Cart, and Course Kiosk. As we begin the 2026 season, we are searching for the right candidate to provide the Harvest Experience as our Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. This position commences March 1st to October 31st with the possibility of year-round employment.
