Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of warehouse distribution, heavy equipment operation, and warehouse management systems. This role is critical in ensuring efficient order fulfillment, shipping & receiving, and maintaining safety standards across all operational activities.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities including order picking, packing, load & unload operations, and shipping & receiving processes.
- Operate and oversee heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery to facilitate material movement.
- Manage warehouse inventory using Warehouse Management System (WMS) and AS400 systems to ensure accurate stock levels and order accuracy.
- Lead a team of warehouse staff in daily tasks related to order fulfillment, packaging, construction materials handling, and heavy lifting.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and general warehouse safety standards.
- Oversee the training of staff on machinery operation including forklifts, order pickers, cranes, and other heavy equipment.
- Coordinate with shipping & receiving departments to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
- Maintain operational efficiency by implementing process improvements and troubleshooting mechanical or logistical issues.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to optimize stock management.
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting using systems like AS400 for all warehouse activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, manufacturing, or construction environments with a focus on logistics management.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, and order pickers.
- Experience operating warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 platforms.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during order fulfillment or loading/unloading activities.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with prior supervisory experience overseeing warehouse teams.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with packaging standards.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and the ability to enforce compliance among staff.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments requiring multitasking across various operational functions. This position offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead a dynamic team while ensuring operational excellence within a busy warehouse setting.
Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
