Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Ranch Manager to lead the daily operations of our family started Bison Ranch. We are a cow , calf operation but we finish all of our own animals in the feed lot. At the Goodsoil ranch your leadership and passion for sustainable ranching will drive the success of our operations. In this vital role, you will oversee daily ranch activities, manage livestock health and welfare, coordinate maintenance of facilities and equipment, and ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards. Your energetic approach will inspire your team and foster a thriving, productive ranch environment. Duties
- Supervise daily ranch operations, including livestock management, feeding schedules, and pasture rotation plans
- Oversee health programs for animals, including vaccinations, treatments, and regular health assessments
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of fences, equipment, water systems, and infrastructure to ensure safety and efficiency
- Implement sustainable practices that protect the environment while maximizing productivity
- Maintain detailed records of livestock inventories, health histories, and operational activities
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental policies through regular inspections and training
- Proven experience in ranch management or livestock operations with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices
- Knowledge of sustainable land management techniques and environmental regulations relevant to ranching
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team in a dynamic setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and operational planning
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively while maintaining safety standards
