Position Summary
Our employer partner is seeking professional and customer-focused Security Guards to work in a busy retail and commercial environment in Downtown Toronto. This role involves maintaining a safe and secure environment through proactive patrols, access control, incident response, and exceptional customer service. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced setting with high pedestrian traffic and demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols of the property, including parking areas, entrances, and common spaces.
- Monitor and control access to the building by verifying identification and managing visitor and vendor entry.
- Observe site activity through CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and disturbances, escalating matters as required.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized activities.
- Provide customer service support to tenants, employees, visitors, and vendors.
- Enforce property rules, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Support emergency response procedures, including evacuations and first aid incidents.
- Conduct routine inspections of doors, locks, gates, and lighting, reporting maintenance and safety concerns.
- Complete incident reports and documentation as required.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Security Leadership Team and client representatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a high-profile environment.
- Previous security experience and/or post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Ability to work continental day and night shifts.
- Willingness to obtain Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) certification if not already certified.
