In this exciting role, you must be a driven health and safety professional with a desire to help businesses build a safer workplace. As part of a high-performing team, you will assist customers to ensure that aspects related to equipment training meet their legislative responsibilities by delivering high-impact and effective classroom and practical equipment training. In addition, you will also assist with developing and selling equipment training solutions as a subject matter expert.
You should have prior industrial safety training experience, specifically, teaching in training classrooms and at customer locations in Industrial, Energy & Resources, and/or public sectors(s). You must possess sound knowledge of adult education principles, have exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills, and a proven work history of at least 5 years of providing training to employees both inside and outside of their organizations.
You must possess intermediate computer skills, a valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to clients across the territory as needed including occasional evening and weekends.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate both in-person and on-site training courses to audiences across different industries using adult learning principles and best practices
- Industry knowledge of various subjects with the practical application to accurately answer participant questions with sensitivity, professionalism, and inclusivity
- Conducts training needs analysis to identify the skills and knowledge required for all levels within the courses
- Perform practical evaluations for courses (powered mobile equipment, fall protection)
- Ensure that administrative requirements are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including training records, timesheets, expenses
- Assist in the development or modification of course content
- Provide feedback to relevant internal teams to ensure seamless, accurate, and meaningful content delivery to the customers
- Work closely with Manager, Training Coordinators, and sales team to best understand the needs of our clients and share any relevant information and opportunities to maximize both customer satisfaction and revenue generation

Required Experience
- Post-Secondary Education in Health and Safety or related experience required
- Health and Safety certifications and accreditations required (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights, Train the Trainer programs)
- Solid understanding and knowledge of legislation including but not limited to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Canadian Standards Association, the Canada Labor Code, and other applicable Health and Safety regulations
- 5+ years of practical experience using adult learning techniques and best practices in a trainer/facilitator capacity including both virtual and in-person environments with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven experience with learners from various industries such as industrial, construction, manufacturing and public
- CRSP certification is considered an asset
- 2+ years delivering Health and Safety Programs including Equipment Training, Working at Heights, and Train the Trainer considered an asset
- Proficiency with using Microsoft Office suite, Learning Management Systems, tech-savviness, and the willingness and ability to embrace new technologies and systems
- Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
