Junior Data Integration Developer
Journal Technologies is looking for an experienced, high-energy, results-oriented project professional to be a key contributor to our data strategy, ensuring the seamless flow of information within our organization. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining data integration solutions that empower data-driven decision-making and enable us to extract actionable insights from our vast data sources.
Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and maintaining data integration solutions that connect various data sources and systems to support data exchange.

Support the creation and maintenance of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes under guidance, helping ensure data quality and alignment with business needs.

Work with senior developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to help document and implement data mapping specifications.

Perform basic data validation and quality checks to identify issues and escalate anomalies to senior team members.

Assist in maintaining and monitoring databases used in integration processes to support performance and reliability.

Develop and modify simple scripts to support data transformations and automation tasks, with guidance.

Help monitor data integration jobs and report on failures or performance issues.

Create and maintain documentation for data integration processes, including data flows and mappings.

Work with cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, QA) to understand requirements and support solution delivery.

Follow established data security and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) under supervision.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

0–2 years of experience in data integration, development, or a related role.

Basic understanding of ETL concepts and data integration principles.

Familiarity with at least one ETL tool (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Informatica) or willingness to learn.

Foundational SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

Base understanding of T-SQL language.

Basic understanding of XML.

Exposure to a scripting language (e.g., Python, Java) is an asset.

Basic understanding of data structures and data quality concepts.

Strong willingness to learn and grow in a technical environment.

Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
