Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in concrete forming, carpentry, and related construction activities. This role involves working on various projects that require precise formwork installation, structural support, and finishing. Candidates should possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including restoration, renovation, and new construction.
Duties
- Construct, install, and dismantle formwork for concrete structures using carpentry skills and hand tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate formwork setup
- Operate heavy equipment safely for material handling and formwork placement
- Install rebar and perform concrete finishing tasks as required
- Use welding, caulking, masonry, flooring installation, and other related skills to support project needs
- Assist with restoration and renovation projects by applying masonry, concrete forming, and other specialized techniques
- Perform heavy lifting and ensure safety protocols are followed during all phases of work
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction with a focus on concrete forming, carpentry, or related fields
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, heavy equipment operation, and hand/power tools
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Experience with rebar installation, concrete finishing, welding, caulking, masonry, flooring installation, and restoration is preferred
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces as needed
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Prior experience in renovation or remodeling projects is advantageous
- Construction experience with a solid understanding of schematics and technical instructions
