Overview
We are currently seeking a dependable, detail oriented, and motivated individual to join our team as a Midnight Shift Supervisor to supervise 20-30 night shift employees. This is a permanent straight midnight shift opportunity, ideal for a hands on leader who excels in a fast paced manufacturing environment and is committed to driving safety, quality, and operational excellence during overnight production.
Please note that this position is compensated on an hourly basis. The annual salary range provided represents an estimated starting salary and will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment throughout the facility, including exterior areas
- Promote a culture focused on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, processes, and workplace rules
- Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to production employees
- Conduct daily floor walkabouts and communicate shift activities and job status effectively during shift handovers
- Take ownership of shift performance related to quality, productivity, cost, and delivery objectives
- Complete layered process audits, safety inspections, and participate in corrective action initiatives
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications while minimizing scrap and ensuring non conformance procedures are properly followed
- Collaborate closely with Quality and Set Up Technicians to ensure product conformity
- Plan, schedule, and assign work to meet production targets and customer requirements
- Provide support and resources for chip inspection processes related to automotive valve housing components
- Monitor efficiency and productivity metrics, review performance results, and communicate feedback to the team
- Ensure all required documentation is available and accurately maintained at each workstation, including count sheets, inspection reports, travelers, and 5S documentation
- Coordinate the movement of raw materials, packaging, and skids to and from production areas
- Maintain shop floor discipline and ensure a productive working environment
- Support the training and development of both new and existing employees
- Communicate and document key events and operational updates with other Shift Supervisors and the Operations Manager
- Assist with material handling activities as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years in a manufacturing or CNC environment
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience (a team of minimum 15-20 technicians) in a manufacturing environment
- Forklift certification and/or operating experience
- Experience in a machine shop environment and familiarity with CNC transfer machines is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a working knowledge of GD&T
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and a positive, proactive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work independently
- Self motivated with a strong work ethic and a results oriented mindset
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and dial indicators
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and technologies
Additional Requirements
- The successful candidate must possess a valid Class G driver's license and successfully complete a criminal background check as a condition of employment.

- College diploma required; apprenticeship completion or technical diploma preferred
