The Kitchen Coordinator is responsible for receiving, preparing and providing nutritious meals that are delivered from the caterer. This role is also responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and equipment as well as general cleanliness of the program while ensuring the policies and procedures of Caledon East Children’s Place and Peel Public Health are met. The "Food Handler's Certificate" is required.
Job Duties
- Receive, prepare and present food delivered from the caterer
- Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and delivered according to program schedule.
- Responsible for maintaining menus and other resources from the caterer.
- Responsible for posting changes to the daily menu.
- Ensure that food spoilage or waste is kept to a minimum.
- Store food and supplies to ensure nutritional value is maximized.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, kitchen equipment and food storage areas
- Complete all kitchen cleaning checklists.
- Will follow recommendation and Nutrition component of the Operating Criteria
- Responsible for directing staff, supply staff, students or volunteers when assisting in the kitchen.
- Wash dishes and load/unload the sanitizer.
- Empty kitchen garbage/recycling daily
- Ensure laundry is completed daily.
- Ensure that all cleaning products are stored and maintained properly in the kitchen
- Follow CECP policies/procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
Hours: 9:00am-1:30pm

- Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:
